Creating Your First Website

A step-by-step guide to building and publishing your first website with Pentoggle

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Pentoggle account (sign up at pentoggle.com)
  • A clear idea of what you want to build
  • Any content you want to include (text, images, etc.)

New to Pentoggle? The free plan gives you everything you need to get started. Upgrade later for custom domains and advanced features.

Step 1: Create an account

  1. Visit pentoggle.com
  2. Click "Get started" in the top right corner
  3. Choose how to sign up: Google, phone number, or email & password
  4. If you sign up using email & password, verify your email address (verification is only required for email/password signups)
  5. You'll be redirected to your dashboard

Step 2: Describe your website

In the Pentoggle dashboard, you'll see a text area where you can describe what you want to build. Be as detailed as you like!

Example descriptions:

Simple portfolio:

Create a portfolio website for a freelance designer. Include:
- Hero section with my name and tagline
- Portfolio gallery with 6 project cards
- About me section with a photo and bio
- Contact form
- Use a clean, minimal design with pastel colors

Business landing page:

Build a landing page for my SaaS product "TaskFlow":
- Hero with headline "Manage your tasks effortlessly" and CTA button
- Features section highlighting 4 key features
- Pricing table with 3 tiers
- FAQ section
- Footer with social links
- Modern, professional design with blue and white color scheme

Blog website:

Create a personal blog website:
- Clean header with logo and navigation
- Homepage showing latest 5 blog posts
- Individual blog post pages
- About page
- Sidebar with categories and recent posts
- Minimal, readable design inspired by Medium

Pro Tip: The more specific you are, the better results you'll get. Include details about layout, colors, content, and functionality. Many users draft detailed prompts in ChatGPT before pasting them into Pentoggle — its a great place to iterate on wording and level of detail.

Step 3: Review the generated site

After you submit your description, Pentoggle's AI will generate your website in real-time. This usually takes 1 to 3 minutes depending on complexity.

Once complete, you'll see:

  • A live preview of your website
  • Your assigned subdomain (e.g., mysite.pentoggle.com) — the Publish button appears on the Preview page (top-right) where you can also copy your live URL
  • Controls in the preview to maximize or minimize the preview area for easier inspection
  • A left-side chat panel where you can iterate with the AI agent to refine content, layouts, and visual details
  • Options to iterate or publish

Step 4: Iterate and refine

Not quite perfect? No problem! You can request changes using natural language:

Example refinement requests:

  • "Change the hero background to a gradient from blue to purple"
  • "Add a testimonials section after the features"
  • "Make the font larger and use a different typeface"
  • "Add a newsletter signup form in the footer"
  • "Change the color scheme to dark mode"

Each iteration is applied to your existing site, preserving your content while implementing the requested changes.

Pro Tip: When possible, group multiple small, related requests into a single iteration. Bundling changes helps reduce credits/costs and speeds up the refinement process.

Step 5: Publish your site

When you're happy with your website:

  1. From the Preview page, click the "Publish" button (top-right) — this is also where you can copy your live URL
  2. Your site goes live immediately at yoursite.pentoggle.com
  3. Share the link with anyone — it's publicly accessible

Tips for success

Be specific about layout

Instead of "create a website", say "create a one-page website with a hero section, features section, and contact form".

Mention design preferences

Reference styles you like: "minimal like Apple.com", "modern like Stripe", "playful like Mailchimp".

Include content details

Provide actual text, headings, and descriptions rather than placeholders. This gives you a better preview of the final result.

Start simple, then iterate

Begin with the core structure, then refine design details and add features in subsequent iterations.

Ask for examples

Not sure what's possible? Ask the AI: "What kinds of landing pages can you create?"
